Parent/Carer Online Course

Our parent/carer course is the foundation of our work with families on a pathway for connected and respectful relationships in the family .

For six-eight weeks we meet every week with the same small group of families to develop the skills, discuss strategies, and practise emotion coaching. Our learning spaces are collaborative and co-created with the participants of each group. The regular practise fosters connected and respectful relationships between parents, carers, and children.

We share the theory and evidence related to the development of emotional intelligence and self-regulation, and we delve into the practise of emotion coaching included in the Tuning in to Kids/Teens program. In addition we address brain development, neurodiversity, and behaviour as communication including:

- How and why emotion coaching works
- Transform the dynamics that have become habitual
- Behaviour as communication
- How to respond to anger, rage, anxiety, sadness and worry
- Identify why certain strategies are not working and how to adapt them
- Identify why certain behaviours push you to your limits
- Work through complex family dynamics including families who may be neurodiverse or have experienced complex trauma
- All families are welcome. Single-headed households, foster families, LGBTQIA+ families, ADF families and co-parents (together or separated) who have different approaches to parenting.

Private Sessions

We encourage all families who are able to participate in the group process Tuning in with Meg & Tara as it is often the healing and collaborative space in the community that makes the learning so rich.

If you need more personalised support or times we do offer private sessions to provide the evidence, skills and practice of responding to children in your family context.  Sessions are $250 per 1 hour session offered weekly or fortnightly.

There is limited availability for private sessions so please email us on [email protected] or send us a message below for current opportunities.
